The Mission

The discipline of yoga is an approach to life with a focus on being fully present for each moment, rather than living in the future or in the past as so many of us tend to do. Over the centuries, yoga techniques combining philosophy, study of the body and mind, and a practice of physical postures, breath work, and meditation were developed as pathways to the fully present, whole Self.
At Yoga Community, we bring our enthusiasm for developing the full person to you. Yoga is not a passing fad to us. We know our students’ names; our small classes bring a personal touch to our teaching and allow us to provide plenty of one-on-one instruction. Using detail-oriented instruction, we bring your attention and your intention to what is really here, in the Now. We share with you tools to develop awareness of your body, of your mind, and to uncover your inherent state of being. In classes we explore this awareness, as well as structural alignment, strength, flexibility, balance, and suggestions for living a fulfilling life. Our formula is simple: Attention + Intention = present moment awareness = the truth of life. All of our classes are invitations to join us in being present and in discovering your truth.

About our Instructors
At Yoga Community, all of our instructors must demonstrate a passion for their chosen practice, have professional training and be committed to a path of inquiry and self study. Our yoga instructors are influenced by the Iyengar and Kripalu traditions of Hatha Yoga bringing precision, knowledge, compassion, and discipline to their practice. All instructors are encouraged to bring their own personality and gifts to their teaching.
