Which class should I take? Where should I start?
Our beginning yoga series are designed as a perfect place to start, even if you have some yoga experience. These series introduce you to our studio, our practices and alignment-based yoga. But many of our drop in classes can also be a good starting point, especially if you have some experience or if you’re adventuresome. You may also want to review our Yoga Etiquette blog.
If you are dealing with injuries, illness, or prefer a gentle approach, our Adaptive Yoga, Mindful Movement Yoga or Gentle Yoga classes are geared towards adapting yoga to meet your needs.

What do I need to bring/wear to class?
September 2020 UPDATE: We recommend you bring your own props. Use of studio props is at your own risk. Many props are available for purchase on our website (with FREE delivery within the Tri-Cities) or in studio.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts. If you have your own yoga mat, feel free to bring it. But we do have studio mats available for use at no charge. We provide all props needed. We have water available, but you may want to bring your reusable water bottle.
Wear any comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement (not too tight, not too loose). Most students wear yoga pants and a t-shirt or tank top. You may want to bring/wear layers so you can adjust depending on the practice. Be prepared to leave shoes* outside the studio. Wearing socks in the studio is not recommended unless they have traction on the bottom, as they can slip on wood floors and even on yoga mats.
*If you have medical need to wear shoes, contact the studio to discuss accommodations.
Where are you located?
We are at 4415 W. Clearwater Ave. in Kennewick, WA. Our studio is inside the Crossroads Mall building which sits between Volland and Union. We’re across the street from Winco.
Do I need to preregister?
September 2020 UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 guidance and class size limitations, preregistration is REQUIRED for all classes.
Preregistering is required for series and workshops, as they can fill and you must pay/register to reserve your spot.
Preregistering for our weekly drop-in classes is not required, simply arrive ~10 minutes before class begins to sign in and get set up. However, during peak times or for busy classes, pre-registration will ensure your spot as walk ins are accepted until the class is full.
Occasionally, there will be a special class offered for drop-in rates (Yoga for Scoliosis & Back Care, Restorative Yoga, etc), it is recommended that you preregister for these to reserve a spot as they are very popular and tend to fill.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Absolutely. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before class. You can also use your credit card to pay using our online store or the MindBody app. Cash and check are also accepted.
Refunds and Missed Classes
Can I get a refund?
September 2020 UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 guidance and class size limitations, no refund/credit will be given for IN STUDIO classes if cancelled less than 24 hours before class.
A full refund will be given if Yoga Community is notified three days prior to the beginning of a course or workshop (visiting instructor workshops seven days prior, unless otherwise noted in the description). After the cancellation time has passed, NO REFUNDS will be given; however, a credit will be given in the form of class credits. Class credits must be used within six months and may not be used for retail or gift certificates. We offer a free trial class at any of our drop-in classes, please try a class before signing up for a series or package. If Yoga Community cancels a course or if a course is full, you will receive a full refund.
I missed a series class. Can I make it up?
We offer up to two make up classes per 8-week series, one for 4/6-week series. Making up the class in another series of the same topic is not always an option, as these classes may be full. Drop-ins and make ups may be allowed, if the series isn’t full.
You can attend any drop-in class as your make up, just sign in at the front desk and check “make up” on the sign in sheet.
What if I'm on a budget and class prices are out of reach?
Yoga Community understands yoga can't always find its way into the budget. We offer scholarships and work-study/volunteer opportunities to help.
Our scholarship program offers up to a 50% discount on classes and is funded by our students, FOR our students. Use it when you need it, give back if/when you can.
Our work-study includes volunteering your time to the studio. For each hour you volunteer, you'll receive a free class. Opportunities include studio cleaning, social media or newsletter support, and front desk support.

Do you offer hot yoga?
No, our studios are kept at room tempature. We encourage students to dress in layers so you can adjust depending on the practice.
What is Yoga Community doing about COVID-19?
September 2020 UPDATE: We have been allowed to open for small in studio classes of no more than 5 students. Preregistration is required and no refunds/credits will be issued if cancelled less than 24 hours before class. Social distancing (at least 6') and masks are required at all times.
Please arrive early to allow for social distancing protocols:
· Entry way is limited to 3 students at a time – both before and after class. Prior to class, wait in the hall to enter. After class, students are released 3 at a time to leave.
· Adhere to floor markings for mat placement.
· NO physical adjustments will be given.
· Doors and windows should be open to encourage air flow whenever possible.
· Use of studio props is at your own risk.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. While we are taking every precaution to avoid the spread of this virus, we cannot ensure our business is free from this risk. By visiting Yoga Community, LLC, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
UPDATE: As of March 16th, Yoga Community's studio has been closed in accordance with orders made by the Washington State Governor. We are now offering virtual classes via Zoom. You can see currently offered classes at the Schedule tab. Updates will be made as guidance becomes available and further guidelines/policies will be posted prior to reopening.

We are carefully watching the recommendations from the state, CDC and WHO regarding COVID-19. At this time, we expect some temporary class changes due to teachers working with at risk populations and school closures. As soon as we know of a change, we will update the online schedule, post it on Facebook, and contact any students who regularly attend that class.
We ask that you DO NOT attend class if you are sick with cold/flu/virus symptoms or are caring for someone that is sick.
As of March 2, we have taken the following actions:
*Enhanced cleaning of all frequently touched surfaces
*Providing disinfecting wipes for use by anyone at the studio
*Sick instructors will stay home (get subs or cancel class)
*Encouraging hand washing by instructors and students
*Encouraging students to bring props/blankets/towels from home
*Offering 10% off prop orders for personal props
Starting this week, we are implementing the following:
*Decreasing maximum class sizes
*Decreasing common prop usage, especially cloth props
*Discouraging hands on adjustments of any kind
*Changing some class formats to support the above
*Supporting students who choose social distancing (see more below)

If you come to the studio,
Please wash your hands per CDC recommendations prior class.
Respect others space and keep 3-6 feet between yourself and other students.
Cover your cough and sneeze. Wash your hands afterward.
Disinfect shared props before and after use or avoid use of them altogether.
Most importantly, if you choose Social Distancing, we support you!
Class credits will be provided for students who opt not to attend due to choosing social distancing, illness, or caring for someone who is sick.
